Community

Community at ARCHE @ KCPCH

We here at ARCHE @ KCPCH believe that a life of following Christ is best lived within community. For us this is lived out in three distinctive and unique ways:

Inter-generational Unity

We hope that KCPCH and therefore ARCHE will be a multi-generational church in which young and old alike worship the Father together in a weekly family reunion. We long to be a church that is counter-cultural in uniting families together on Sunday mornings rather than dividing them.  We believe in the unity of both the Korean and English-speaking generations as an integral part of who we are as a church body. Christ who unites us is greater than anything that can potentially divide us.

We hope that KCPCH and therefore ARCHE will be a church where diversity of many kinds (ethnically, culturally, generationally)  will be unified through worship and community to reflect a picture of the kingdom come.

YAGs

ARCHE is made up of YAGs (You All Gather) who gather weekly to image the church described in the New Testament. It is in and through our YAGs where we seek to grow as disciples of Christ; and therefore, where we seek to make disciples of all nations.

YAG is where life-on-life discipleship happens. As Christ did with the and for us during His earthly life, we live out Christ’s example through our hospitality, service, generosity, missions, prayer and stories.

Through YAGs we move from a life of isolation to a life of intimacy. We firmly believe YAGs as a central part of what it means to be the church. We encourage and invite all to find community in a YAG!

If you are interested in joining a YAG, please contact Chris Park for more information

Membership

Becoming a member of ARCHE @ KCPCH is a mutual acceptance and commitment of the individual to the church, and the church to the individual. There is no such thing as a “lone-ranger” Christian in Scripture, but rather that a body is one that is made up of many “members.” We believe membership fosters a deeper commitment and relationship with the body of Christ through a mutual covenant relationship made between the church and the member.

As such, membership facilitates the glory of God through our commitment to God’s people, the health of the church through our commitment to the community, our own health through the church’s commitment and accountability to us, and the health of the world as they will know we belong to Christ through the way we love and care for one another.

We offer membership classes twice a year for all those in college or older, and once a year for those in high school.
